Chaturanga Workshop
Sunday April 16th
Unplug & Be Mindful- Marshfield
2:00 - 4:00pm
$45
Chaturanga is offered in almost every flow class, but how often is it actually taught. Most people learn by watching others in the class and trying to mimic the movements. How do you know the person next to you is doing it right? It is very rare that I see a person in a class who has a flawless chaturanga. We can all benefit from a second set of eyes and I little adjustment. This motion of high plank to low plank before a back bend is offered in every studio across the country, but with very little guidance. It is also the root cause of the number one injury in yoga. Improper alignment in chaturanga can cause immediate injury or wear and tear of the lumber spine over time. Why not take a couple hours to check that you are not causing self harm?
Who is this workshop for? EVERYONE who practices yoga.
Top 2 reasons why people do not take this workshop:
1. "I have been practicing yoga for years. I already know how to do a chaturanga."
This is the exact reason why you should be in this workshop! Come check your form. We all develop misalignments in our practice. The stronger your practice is, the more important it is to have alignment checks.
2. "I am a beginner. I'm not ready for this workshop."
This is also a great reason to take it. Learn the correct way to create this motion with modifications. Modifications allow you to build strength properly and participate in flow and advanced classes. This addition knowledge will give you guidance so you can stay true to your level of practice and keep your body safe.
