Costa Rica Rain Forest Eco Retreat
Feb. 22-28, 2021

Picture
This is an amazing location, but it is not for everyone.  If you are fearful of nature than this is probably not your retreat.  This is an opportunity to live in the rain forest for a week.  Every time you walk down a path you will see the locals; squirrel monkeys, aguti and coati are everywhere.  This is also the location that the rainbow macaw was reintroduced into the wild.  The project was successful and they are thriving in this rain forest.  In our short two night stay, I saw two!  There are also snakes and scorpions on the property.  At check in the staff teaches you how to be safe by walking mindfully and always using a flashlight at night.  In the 40 years they have owned the hotel they have not had any visitors insured due to contact with the wild life.

Getting to this location does require some bravery.  The only way to get here is by a small 12 seat plane.  If you are fearful of flying, this is probably not your retreat.

If you like an adventure and getting up close and person with wild life than you will LOVE this retreat! I am not a fan of camping.  This is not a camping trip.  This is an eco lodge done right.  I felt safe and comfortable in my room and I loved falling asleep to the sounds of nature around me.
