All classes will begin with a short meditation session designed to focus and prepare your body for our practice. Classes will end with a Savasana. Savasana is a relaxation designed to allow your body to rest and restore. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of class. This will allow plenty of time to settle in. Late arrivals are distracting to other retreat guests. Classes will run 60-75 minutes.
Gentle Hatha Yoga for Sleep- This slow paced class focuses on stretching and using your breath to guide your body deeper into the asanas (postures). The postures, pranayama and meditative techniques introduced will prepare your mind and body for a peaceful and sound sleep.
Yoga Tone- This challenging class is designed to build strength. Modifications will be offered to make the class safe for all levels. Students are encouraged to listen to their bodies and take breaks as often as needed. This is a fun, energizing workout. Smiling and laughter is encouraged. Come find your edge.
Strong Flow- Yoga Tone with segments of vinyasa flow to lengthen muscles as you build strength. These vinyasa flow segments will teach you the “dance” of yoga and allow you to find the connection between breath and movement.
Chakra Balancing Flow- A unique flow sequence designed to clear and balance the chakras root to crown. This class will use postures and chanting to open each chakra. The technique invites the release of stagnant energy to creating space for new, positive energy.
Molasses Flow- A new approach to the sun salutation. These classes use Ashtanga Primary Series postures in a super slow flow. The longer, mindful pauses in between the transitions create a challenging physical practice appropriate for all levels.
Rise & Shine Yoga- A morning practice with gentle flow sequences designed to awaken and energize the mind and body in preparation for your day.
Workshops are designed to enhance your practice. They may not follow the structure of a traditional yoga class. Some workshops will include lecture and/or discussion, while others such as meditation & pranayama will require you to hold your questions until the end of class. Please ask your teacher if you have questions about the structure of any of the scheduled workshop.
Meditation- Meditation is not something that you either can or can not do. Everyone can meditate, but just like our physical postures it involves a level of patience, practice and commitment. In this workshop you will learn about and explore a variety of techniques. You will have the opportunity to discover which styles work best for you. Beginners and advanced yogis are encouraged to join us for this all levels approach to group meditation.
Structure & Alignment- In this workshop we will break down the sun salutation one step at a time. We will discuss ways to take control of your practice. Learn your modifications so you can turn any class into a gentle flow. Looking for more of a challenge? We will also discuss ways to add power to any flow class. We will also go over the basic warrior postures. If you are new to yoga, this workshop is highly recommended. If you are a seasoned yogi, feel free to join us to check your alignment. A subtle adjustment can make a world of difference in your yoga practice.
